The Letter - Kathryn Hughes

I have kept up my aim of reading at least one book per month. In fact most months I have read more than one and my intention was to write a review on each one but I keep forgetting. Well today I finished the book 'The Letter' by Kathryn Hughes. I loved it. It's a story about two women. Tina's story is based in the 1970's and Chrissie whose story is based at the start of World War 2. The two women's lives become linked by a letter to Chrissie which Tina finds in an old suit handed in to a charity shop. I loved both characters and both of their stories. They both went through traumatic experiences but in the end there is hope. I couldn't put it down. I think it was partly because they were northern women (based in Manchester) and the details of the 1970's era brought back memories of my childhood. I loved the way it was written, I hate it when the author waffles on too much. It's alovely story and I'll definitely be looking up more books by this author.
