Sewing Kit

I was caught out at Christmas when the girls at work all started swapping pressy's, nothing too expensive, just a token little gift. Not expecting this I had to dash out last minute to buy some presents that weren't going to break the bank, which were OK but I was alittle disappointed with ny purchases. Had I been prepared I could have made something. I always like getting a home-made card or gift cos it takes abit of thought and effort so I have decided to be much better prepared this year and have lots of little homemade gifts at the ready in case of emergencies. This week I have made three little sewing kits, a needle case and pin cushion and I found these lovely tin sewing sets for £1.50 from dotcomgiftshop in the sale!
I even bought some nice red party bags to put them in.
With al ittle bit of ribbon and a doily, I think they have turned out alright.

New Year

Today we have been on a lovely walk in Osmotherley. David and I go on a lot of walks and every time we say we should keep a record of where we have been but we never do. This year I am going to try as afterwards we often forget where we saw what and what was good and what was bad about it. Anywat today we parked on the main road near the Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel. There;s a path going down past the youth hostel which will lead you to the lake but we didn't realise that until we were heading back so walked up to the main road to the lake.
we walked along the side of the lake but instead of ollowing the path round we carried on straight ahead which takes you up through the trees and along the hill top.
You can go higher but as we are both suffering from a cold we weren't feeling to energetic. The path then brings you back down towards the other end of the lake near sheep wash, which we walked round and then set off back around the lake
After walking back around the lake we decided to venture through the woods instead of taking the main road back to the car and we hit upon a path that lead us to Cote Ghyll caravan park and youth hostel which you can see from the picture below was really nice.
I would say we were out walking about one hour 30 mins and finished off with a flask of soup and a sarnie, lovely!
To finish the day we popped into Northallerton for a stroll down the high street. I really liked it I found a lovely shop down one of the arcades with really nice, inexpensive pictures and gifts, a craft shop and lots of charity shops with good quality clothes in, what more can you ask for.
